Twas pre-Christmas Eve and I was bound and determined to grab market share from the ole’ Claus himself. With a pocketful of magic and a twinkle in my eye I set off on a journey that would fly me through the sky. A journey to visit every house and hamlet every city and castle near and far spreading dreams warped as presents to both naughty and nice.
My plan could not fail or I might land in Jail so with a touch of my nose I stopped time and loaded my sleigh. My 16 trusty reindeer all turned to look reminding me close on our heels would be Jolly Saint Nick. Finish the job in one night we must for Rudolph was chasing behind shinning his red through fog all puffed with himself.
My elf’s had crunched the numbers they’d read the polls their was room for but one with mirth in his eye and nog on his breath, I was sure it was I.
With time stopped for a night I had to pick, so in a flash I set down in the heart of an apple, a city so bright so big there were grumbles from my team but with a shake of my belly and a twist of my beard I soared through the skies from house to hovel leaving everyone something in a bright shinny tin. Now children would sing and sit on my lap cause I beat the old man to their houses and dreams.
While you all slept dreaming of peace and peppermint brownies my Ipod winked letting me know it was time to go, so with a finger to my nose and a leap of faith I was atop the Ed Sullivan, home of Dave, and into my sleigh a shake of the reins my little red sled was aloft in a sky all shinny with stars and snow flakes so big they’d cover your tongue, Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas to all and to all a big hug I sang as I soared in front of the moon leaving on everyone’s pillow chocolate with cream.
